Datawatch Launches Monarch Data Pump Version 9 for Enterprise Reporting and Data ETL: Organizations Benefit from Business Intelligence with Dramatically Reduced Cost, Time and Complexity

Chelmsford, MA - November 14, 2007 - Datawatch Corporation (NASDAQ-CM: DWCH), a leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM), today announced Monarch Data Pump Version 9, a Windows server-based enterprise reporting and data ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Loading) solution. Unlike other business intelligence (BI) solutions, Monarch Data Pump Version 9 automatically transforms existing reports and PDF files into live, customized data with no programming, giving organizations an advantage in acquiring, customizing and delivering the data end users need to be most productive.
“Monarch Data Pump gives us powerful, programming-free business intelligence,” said Trent Richardson, director of EDI and information management for Professional Management Group, a healthcare revenue cycle management services firm based in Utah. “Unlike other solutions, Monarch Data Pump leverages the existing report output from our healthcare information system and automatically mines, customizes and exports the data, allowing us to fully automate client reporting and analysis.”

Richardson continued, “What’s more, we can now rapidly deploy an internal scorecarding initiative for substantial performance improvement, with no new database programming. Monarch Data Pump has saved us and our clients substantial time and money, and we are excited about the new functionality in Monarch Data Pump Version 9.”

Other BI or data management systems rely primarily on structured data sources, such as enterprise application production databases, and typically ignore unstructured data like existing customer statements and invoices. In contrast, Monarch Data Pump Version 9 utilizes Datawatch’s Monarch report mining engine to easily mine and customize data from existing reports, PDF files and other business documents, as well as databases and spreadsheets. Enterprise information systems, such as ERP, HR/payroll, healthcare and banking/financial systems, typically already provide a vast library of existing reports, but there is no way to work with report data frozen on the printed page. Monarch Data Pump Version 9 unlocks the data in reports, dramatically simplifying the process of acquiring the data from these systems for analysis and eliminating the need for new database programming and end user training.

“Recent high-profile market consolidation among large BI vendors has not made their solutions any easier to use; today’s traditional BI solutions are still overkill for many organizations,” said John Kitchen, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Datawatch. “The process of acquiring, analyzing and distributing high quality data remains very difficult for customers who are simply looking to provide the right information to users for making critical business decisions. Monarch Data Pump Version 9 offers the automated reporting, data delivery and data ETL organizations urgently need, at a fraction of the cost, time and complexity of alternative solutions.”

Available in Standard and Professional Versions, Monarch Data Pump Version 9 will benefit any organization looking to easily and inexpensively acquire and customize data from different enterprise systems and deliver it throughout the organization. Monarch Data Pump Version 9 Professional, which offers all the functionality of the Standard Version, is designed to provide significantly higher volume production of data, as well as take advantage of value-added features such as Web services, remote administration via a Web browser and tight integration within SQL Server Information Services (SSIS).

Key features:

• Enterprise Reporting. With Monarch Data Pump Version 9, no new database programming is required to acquire, customize and deliver data. Additionally, Monarch Data Pump Version 9 offers programming-free integration of enterprise data with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel. Monarch Data Pump Version 9 mines the correct data, exports the data to Excel and delivers it to the right people automatically. As a result, many sought-after BI initiatives, such as dashboards and scorecarding, both of which include utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), are within easy reach for organizations that already leverage Excel as a familiar presentation tool.

• Data ETL. Monarch Data Pump Version 9 can be used to export customized data automatically to enterprise databases, including SQL Server, Oracle and IBM DB2, as an ETL tool.

• Integration with Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server 2007. Monarch Data Pump Version 9 expands upon the product’s existing integration with Office SharePoint Server 2007 by enabling file reading from SharePoint and simplifying SharePoint KPI generation, leveraging the enhanced functionality of Excel Services with the new Open XML Spreadsheet format.

• Integration of Disparate Data Sources. Monarch Data Pump Version 9 helps eliminate the enterprise problem of information “silos” by using reports, rather than source databases, as the common denominator across multiple information systems.
