Ken Bero, President and CEO

Ken Bero was appointed president and CEO of Datawatch on January 1, 2008. Previously Ken was COO and senior vice president of sales and business operations, where he was responsible for managing day-to-day operations, leading the company’s worldwide sales strategy, and identifying new customer segments and regions that provide opportunity for future growth.

Ken has more than 25 years of sales, commercial operations and management experience. He joined Datawatch in June 2006 as vice president of enterprise sales. In January of 2007, Ken was promoted to senior vice president, Enterprise Solutions, with responsibility for leading the company's worldwide sales strategy, including managing the company’s direct sales force, improving customer relationship development, and identifying new customer segments and regions that provide opportunity for future growth.

Prior to Datawatch, Ken served as vice president, North American Channel Sales at Business Objects. During his tenure, he  grew the organization from $30 million to $75 million, and developed alliances with key distribution channels, value-added resellers, systems integrators and over 4,000 direct and indirect partners. He also served as COO and executive vice president of sales and marketing at NAVIDEC, a NASDAQ-listed software development and services company.

 

John H. Kitchen, Chief Marketing Officer & Senior Vice President

As CMO and senior vice president, John Kitchen is responsible for worldwide marketing operations, managing the Company's strategic product direction and identifying new vertical market opportunities across the entire product line.

John brings more than 20 years of marketing and management expertise to Datawatch. In March of 1998, John joined the Company as the director of marketing and was promoted to vice president of marketing in March of 1999. In July 2001, he was appointed senior vice president of Desktop and Server Solutions with responsibility for the worldwide marketing and sales of the Company's desktop product lines and OEM technology .

Prior to joining Datawatch, he served as a marketing consultant to a variety of companies in the high technology sector, including Datawatch and Thinking Machines Corporation. John also spent 15 years as founder and partner of Spiessl Kitchen Vosik Advertising, a marketing services agency specializing in the high-tech industry. There he worked with such clients as Sun Microsystems, Citrix, Teradyne, Applix, and Legent. John holds a B.A. in English Literature from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.

 

Murray P. Fish, Chief Financial Officer & Vice President of Finance

As CFO and vice president of finance, Murray's responsibilities include managing the Company's financial growth, driving corporate governance and scaling continued operations. Murray brings over 30 years of experience in finance, and possesses particular expertise in corporate strategy, financial controls, and SEC reporting requirements.

Most recently he served as CFO of Cymfony, Inc. a private, venture-backed business intelligence company recently acquired by TNS, a British company with revenues of $2 billion. Prior to Cymfony, Murray was principal consultant at M.P. Fish Associates, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, and provided financial consulting to large public and private organizations.

Other positions include the roles of CFO and director at Network-1 Security Systems, CFO and director at RealWorld Corporation, and vice president and controller at Goldman Financial Group. He began his career at Arthur Anderson LLP.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Murray holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University, and an MBA from Babson College.

 

Harvey Gross, Vice President Product Management and Development

As vice president of product management and development, Harvey Gross is responsible for driving Datawatch product strategy, positioning and product development, and extending the company into new markets that provide opportunity for future growth. Additional responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of the worldwide development staff. Harvey has more than 30 years of product development, product management, sales and commercial operations experience in the content management and business process market. He joined Datawatch in February of 2007.

Prior to joining Datawatch, he was the principal consultant at HG & Associates, a content management consultancy serving a variety of companies in business, technology and the federal government, and a principal consultant at eVisory, a leading industry consulting group.

Previous positions include CTO for Lason, Inc., an international business process outsourcing firm, where he established an electronic content management service and was instrumental in growing the business to $20 million. Other roles include senior vice president at Virtual Image Technologies, Inc., a regional document management service company, and senior vice president of product development at 360Services, Inc.

 

Robert Clemens, Vice President, Worldwide Sales

As vice president of worldwide sales, Robert Clemens is responsible for leading the company's worldwide sales strategy, including managing the direct and indirect sales and pre-sales organizations, improving customer relationships and identifying new market segments and customer solution requirements leading to opportunities for future sales growth.

He has more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, in both hardware and software companies, selling departmental and enterprise solutions to the Fortune 1000, mid-market, SMB and government markets. He also has expertise in developing and managing distribution and VAR/system integrator relationships. He joined Datawatch in April 2007.

An accomplished professional with deep sales expertise and diverse management experience, Bob consistently delivers top-line achievement. Prior to joining Datawatch, he was the Director of Sales at Zantaz, a leader in the archiving, e-discovery and proactive information risk management markets, where he generated 117 percent of quota and $15M in customer wins.

Before Zantaz, Bob was vice president, worldwide sales at GaleForce Solutions. Bob also held the position of director of North American channel sales at Business Objects, where he was responsible for over $45 million in annual revenue, developed a 12-month pipeline in excess of $19M and achieved 320 percent of enterprise revenue.

While at Business Objects, he consistently achieved in excess of 100 percent annual quota. He also served in a variety of executive and senior level sales positions at companies such as NeTpower, Ashton-Tate/Borland and more. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Management from Elmira College.

 

Darrin Christensen, Vice President, North American Sales

As vice president of North American sales, Darrin is responsible for the sales and pre-sales organizations, and all sales and pre-sales activity for North America. He joined Datawatch in January of 2008.

In his former role at Iron Mountain, Darrin was responsible for managing the Company’s digital service line performance business in the mid-Atlantic region and growing revenues from $500K to $16M over five years. He has over 16 years of sales experience in the software and technology industry, including building robust sales teams. This expertise will be instrumental in driving continued growth for Datawatch in the expanding Enterprise Information Management (EIM) market.

 

Robert Sarno, Vice President of Worldwide Services and Support

As vice president Worldwide Services and Support, Bob Sarno is responsible for developing and strengthening the company's worldwide consulting services and product support organization. He is also responsible for enhancing partner relationships to drive the adoption of Datawatch technology, and managing post-sale support, including maintenance renewals, professional services and technical support.

Bob has more than 14 years of expertise in the IT industry. He joined Datawatch in May of 2006 from ClearStory Systems, where he served as director of customer relations. In April of 2007, Bob was promoted to director of North American enterprise sales and services. In November of 2007, Bob was promoted to vice president of Worldwide Services and Support with responsibility for building a global, world-class services and support organization.

Prior to Datawatch, Bob served as a divisional general manager at ClearStory Systems, where he was responsible for professional services, customer support, and product development and sales. During his tenure at ClearStory, Bob grew professional services revenue to over $1.2 million a year. Other roles include the position of director of customer relations, and director of project management. Prior to ClearStory, Bob held the role of director of project management at SunGard Financial Systems. Bob holds an Associates of Science Degree in Accounting from Bay State College.

 

Daniel Incropera, Corporate Controller and Vice President

As corporate controller and vice president, Daniel Incropera is responsible for worldwide corporate financial reporting, compliance and controls. Dan has more than 15 years of finance and accounting experience in both public and private sector companies. He joined Datawatch in October 2006.

In September of 2007, Dan was promoted to vice president. Prior to Datawatch, Dan served as controller for Pennichuck Corporation. During this time, he was responsible for the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance; a successful $17 million common stock offering, and was a key participant in the refinancing of five short-term note agreements with beneficial terms to the Company.

Other roles include the position of assistant controller at Concord Communications, a $90 million software provider, assistant controller at Genesys Conferencing, where he was instrumental in a successful $34 million IPO, and audit manager at Grant Thornton, LLP. A certified public accountant (CPA), Dan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Merrimack College and a Certificate in Accountancy from Bentley College.
